More On the Undefined Macro Error

This problem with compiling Bookcase on distributions that use automake 1.7 is rather pervasive and is popping up all over the place. The kdevelop email list has several emails from folks running into the problem. Mandrake shipped with automake 1.6, but with the KDevelop RPM having a conflict with it. That puzzled other folks, too. A bug report was filed on KDevelop, and marked resolved. I need to find the fix for the admin directory from the KDE cvs, I think.

I don’t experience the problem, but evidently, the solution is simple. Just delete line 129 of configure.in (the line with the call to AC_OUTPUT() with arguments.

Am I the only one to think that it’s a bad idea for automake to be breaking so much stuff?
